Does poorly for transferring large number of files between iPad and OSX.
My experience with iPad File Explorer has been mixed, but tending to poor.I use it primarily to transfer files, such as photos, from the iPad to my Mac. I could do it with iCloud, but it uses my internet bandwidth twice for each file (up from the iPad, down to the Mac) and I already use DropBox for everything else and don't want to take on multiple cloud disks to manage. Here are my problems with the app:- It freezes or exits unexpectedly (bombs) often; the only good news here is that it hasn't yet corrupted either IOS or OSX files. This happens so often during iPad to Mac file transfer that I quit in frustration and walk away until I cool down.- It appears to have problems when a directory has a large number of files, like more than about 100. Then it either freezes or bombs (see above). I have to force quit in OSX and restart.- The UI is very slow at times, particularly processing directories with large numbers of files.- When transferring files to OSX it almost always stops are reports that one or more of the files being transferred already exists in the destination directory. Since the dest dir was just created and empty, this is false. To be fair, I have also seen this with internal OSX file copy or transfer without this app, so it may be some kind of OSX glitch.- No help file exists for this app. The tutorial on the website on shows how to install it.My frustration level with this app increases daily. I paid $14.95 for this app, but I am now actively seeking a replacement, specifically for file transfers. As far as the rest of its functionality, I have had no problems with exploring files on the iPad. It uses the standard OSX finder format, allowing the standard four views. Response time is satisfactory, as long as the directory does not have a large number of files. For photos, it can take a lo-o-ong time to paint all the picture icons, and you can forget Cover Flow.
Pros:
Uses standard Finder layouts
Cons:
Frequently freezes or crashes
Doesn't handle large numbers of files well
No help file
User interface response time can be extremely slow More

Was just average...
I was using this app from quite some time and i can say overall the app was working good but it was not perfect though. I was looking for such an app for my ipad which can provide me familiar interface with file management tasks on top notch.Later I found files-finder edition on iTunes and It's just brilliant. More
